Driving the mobility transition
The future of transport is shared, smart, and sustainable. At MILES, we’re committed to making cities more livable by cutting CO₂ emissions and rethinking mobility. For us, the mobility transition is a mission—one we drive forward every day with our vehicles, services, and climate-focused actions.
Our positions on political regulations
We are aware that a successful mobility transition also requires a clear political framework. That is why we actively take a stance on current legislative initiatives affecting our industryMobility Data Act
The Mobility Data Act aims to make travel and transport data more accessible and reusable under fair conditions — which we support. For us, fairness means protecting sensitive data through licensing agreements and allowing monetization to reflect its value. We reject a blanket open-data obligation, as it would let global players exploit free insights into the German car sharing market. Instead, we call for a balanced solution that safeguards competition.
Road Traffic Act (StVG)
We explicitly welcome the amendments to the StVG. They are an important step toward advancing digitalization in road traffic. In particular, we call for the rapid and nationwide introduction of electronic vehicle registration and the digital driver’s license. These measures would simplify processes, reduce bureaucracy, and make the use of shared vehicles significantly easier.
Federal Car Sharing Act
We consider the existing Federal Car Sharing Act, in its current form, to be an important and effective foundation for promoting carsharing in Germany. It enables cities and municipalities to create incentives and improve infrastructure for shared mobility. For this reason, it should be actively applied wherever it is transposed into state law.
Municipal Support
To further increase the attractiveness of car sharing, we advocate for an expansion of municipal support. In particular, we see reduced parking fees and the opening of resident parking zones as key measures that would make car sharing even more appealing to users and thereby advance the mobility transition at the local level.
